Joint Merry Maids franchise owners, Helen Cook and Becky Hewitt, are celebrating after achieving 100 per cent increase in turnover in their first year of business.

Cook and Hewitt first became owners of Merry Maids Sutton Coldfield in July 2011. They purchased the professional domestic cleaning franchise from Cook’s parents, who joined Merry Maids in 1999. Since taking over the business, they have trebled the number of customers and are planning to expand the business from its current customer base in Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield, to Tamworth and the surrounding areas.

Cook said: “When we took over the business we immediately set about implementing our business plan to expand our customer base, while providing first class service to our customers, many of who have been clients for over 10 years. The expansion of the business has been incredible and it has certainly been a challenge to manage all the enquiries.”

The business partners are now looking to recruit two new members of staff to cope with the increase in demand for their service. Cook added: “By extending our team, we’ll be able to expand the business into new locations and meet this demand.”
