International Franchise Expo 2014
The International Franchise Expo brings thousands of entrepreneurs to the Big Apple
Over 450 franchises to exhibit at the Jatvits Center
Year after year the International Franchise Expo (IFE), the premier franchising event, bring thousands of people from around the globe to meet face-to-face with brand representatives from over 450 franchise businesses. The three-day show takes place at the Jatvits Center in New York City from June 19-21 and features franchise companies at every investment level from every industry including food service, education, travel, beauty, financial services, healthcare, automotive and more.
”With more than 150 U.S Embassies through their Foreign Commercial Service Offices actively promoting the IFE within their regions, the IFE has been a significant catalyst to the global expansion of franchising,” said Tom Portesy, president of MFV Expositions, producers of the International Franchise Expo. Last year, the IFE had over 19,000 qualified prospects from more than 85 countries and is sponsored by the International Franchise Association, the largest and oldest global franchising organisation.
It’s no surprise that over the past several decades, franchising has contributed largely to economic development, business growth and job creation overseas. Brands such as Dairy Queen, Snap Fitness and Cinnabon have made a significant impact domestically and overseas.
”Last year’s International Franchise Expo that took place in New York City in June was a tremendous success,” said Bill Chemero, Executive Vice President for Wayback Burgers. “We have recruited three new franchise from the show. I was very fortunate ot meet with several international candidates for Master Franchises from around the world. I would highly recommend that any concept looking to grow on the East coast as well as internationally attend the International Franchise Expo.”
The IFE also provides a forum for one of the most comprehensive franchising learning experiences. Industry experts will host educational symposiums geared toward every single stage of the journey. Offering more than 70 free seminars along with nine in-depth symposiums, the IFE offers a wealth of knowledge into the franchise industry. Some of the symposia topics include the use of Master Franchising Domestically and Internationally, Getting Ready to Franchise Your Business, What Do I Need to know Before Buying a Franchise, Making the Leap: How to Succeed as a Franchisee and more.
Additionally, free seminars will be provided to prospective franchisees and franchisors as well as current franchisors. These educational seminars include basic how-to sessions, advance, in-depth presentations and even specialty seminars for veterans, women and minorities. There is also a multi-unit special event on How to Become a Multi-Unit Franchise Owner that addresses the benefits of multi-unit franchising, offers advice from current multi-unit operators and addresses the challenges multi-unit operators face.
”The IFE was the busiest and largest show Expedia CruiseShipCenters has ever attended in the U.S.,” said Michael Mutsaerts, VP of Franchise Partnerships for Expedia CruiseShipCenters. “It yielded great results for us as we signed a new retail franchise in Newark, DE. I definitely encourage any franchisor looking to expand their operations domestically or Internationally to attend the IFE.”
