Although the low-tech nature of office cleaning means that advances in technology have had little effect on the service that Minster Cleaning Services provides for its clients, behind the scenes, technology plays an important role in the company’s success.

Minster’s IT systems assist in the daily running of the franchise and provide franchise owners with management information to help them each build a large, profitable business.

Managing Director, Mike Parker, sees IT as the key to Minster’s success: “We provide support wherever possible, leaving franchise owners free to focus on their clients. This has helped us achieve our current annual turnover of £30 million. With average branch turnover more than £700,000 per annum and some of our franchise owners employing as many as 200 people, good systems are vital.”

Established in 1982, Minster has been a bfa Full Member since 1992; franchise owners provide an essential business service and large territories mean there are always plenty of potential customers. Minster franchise owners receive support in all the main business areas including bookkeeping, training, marketing, employment law, health and safety and environmental legislation. Full IT infrastructure support is also provided.

Minster currently has new franchise opportunities in Cambridge, Durham, Leicester, London, Middlesex, Peterborough and Swansea.

On average, franchise owners have been with Minster for 13 years and some are planning their retirement. As a result, there may sometimes be established re-sales available across the country.
