“I love the freedom of being a MOLLY MAID Franchise Owner”

MOLLY MAID Franchise Owner Amanda O’Rourke decided to switch her career dealing with high value insurance claims three years ago to make spending more time with her family and running her own business her premium goals.

Amanda O’Rourke made a career-changing decision in 2007 to swap life as an insurance technician by moving in a new direction.

“I knew the time had come for me to move on and had reached a point in my career where I was working part-time after having children and that I was never going to make any serious money working for someone else,” explains Amanda. “I knew I wanted to do something hands-on that I could do straight away from home, so a management franchise seemed the perfect solution.”

Amanda decided a cleaning franchise was what she wanted as her research revealed there was a real need for this service in the Horsham area.

“I looked at a couple of other cleaning franchise opportunities but it was MOLLY MAID that ticked all the boxes I had set myself,” she says. “My mind was made up when I visited its Maidenhead support office and met Chief Executive Pam Bader OBE and the rest of the support team. I loved the way they were so down to earth and it was like meeting long lost friends, which made my decision to become a MOLLY MAID Franchise Owner even easier.”

Amanda’s confidence in selecting the MOLLY MAID opportunity has since been consolidated by the success of her franchise over the past three years, which has seen her expand her territory to employ 11 cleaning staff and operate four cars, with a fifth to be launched in the near future.

“My first four months were the hardest, learning the MOLLY MAID guidelines and recruiting staff, but since then it has been brilliant,” she adds. “I am still very much hands-on and I often accompany my cleaning staff to see the customers as they really appreciate the personal touch.”

As well as meeting her own targets, Amanda explains that MOLLY MAID also gives its Franchise Owners extra incentives including holidays abroad and the chance to join the President’s Circle, which she hopes to achieve next year. Amanda loves the MOLLY MAID culture, which allows its Franchise Owners to share their experiences and knowledge at regular regional meetings and annual conferences and has nothing but praise for how the brand provides its Franchise Owners with the foundations for success.

“MOLLY MAID is brilliant in how its training sessions are mixed with nights out and periods of relaxation giving you the chance to really soak in what you are being taught,” she says. During the three years since operating her MOLLY MAID franchise, Amanda has been very impressed with the support she has been given.

“I know help is just a phone call away and Franchise Owners are encouraged to keep in touch,” she adds. For Amanda the best thing since becoming her own boss is the freedom: “I can meet up for lunch with my friends when I want and can work around my children – in fact since I started I haven’t missed a school assembly. As my husband works from home too, it is nice to have that extra time together.”
