Northern Ireland's first franchise expo
The Franchise Exhibition 2006, the first ever franchise event for Northern Ireland, has been hailed as a huge success for visitors and exhibitors alike, highlighting the fact that franchising is a rapidly growing industry in the region.
The event at the Odyssey in Belfast featured established and new franchises from a wide range of industry sectors from Northern Ireland, the UK and overseas. 'We were extremely impressed by the range of businesses at The Franchise Exhibition,' said Sean Gallagher, a visitor from Belfast.
'Until this show, we had no idea of the opportunities that franchising had to offer here, and we've found one franchise business that we're strongly considering investing in.'
Feedback from participating companies showed that they were impressed with the standard of visitors attending the exhibition. 'We are delighted with the response to our launch at The Franchise Exhibition in Belfast,' comments Nigel Rush, Managing Director of Yellow Tom.
'We have had a terrific response for master licensees and individuals.' Select Appointments Head of Franchise Debbie Smith adds: 'As this was the first franchise exhibition in Northern Ireland we have been delighted with the 'buy-in' to franchising from people seeking to run their own business. We feel confident the exhibition has raised awareness of the benefits of franchising.'
David Tuck, Franchise Sales Manager at Venture Marketing Group, says: 'People in Northern Ireland are really beginning to see the benefits of franchising. The franchise industry is already worth £10 billion across the UK, and the tremendous success of the event proves that the future is going to be very bright indeed.'
