Vital lettings marketplace data and trends are now available to thousands of landlords through Northwood UK's newly launched Facebook and Twitter platforms.

The property franchise is committed to providing up-to-the-minute information from its 75 offices and network of 10,000 landlords on its Facebook page, facebook.com/NorthwoodUK and Twitter feed, @northwooduk.

The company has recognised that with more than 1.6 million people searching online every month for lettings and estate agents, it needed to engage with social networks to share its unique inside knowledge amassed from its UK-wide network.

Lettings industry trends such as increases in rent arrears and tenant evictions will provide Northwood customers with the benefit of expert knowledge to help inform their decisions on renting and letting.

Nick Cooper, Managing Director of Northwood, said: “One of the great advantages of having a Facebook page and Twitter feed is that we can broadcast important information about the lettings industry as it happens, ensuring our customers are well informed about any changes that may affect them.

“The growing influence of social media across our day-to-day lives has transformed the way people interact with letting agents and, as a result, has created a need for property businesses to expand their online visibility.

“The emergence of online search portals and smart phones means people are doing most of their house-hunting on the go while also checking their personal newsfeeds and profiles updates.

“By expanding the Northwood service to Facebook and Twitter, we are making it as convenient as possible for our tenants and landlords to get in touch by fitting in with their daily online routines.

“The addition of Northwood’s social media channels also provides easily accessible platforms which can be used as points of reference for anyone looking for more information on lettings and property sales.”
