Dunkin’ Donuts opens in the UK
One of the world’s leading baked goods and coffee chains has announced the grand opening of its first UK restaurant in Harrow. To celebrate, franchise owners Ram Javia and Neil Patel hosted a celebratory launch programme with live entertainment, promotions and a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Two more restaurants are expected to open in the South East early this year.
GreenThumb announces seven-figure deal
UK lawn care franchise, GreenThumb, has announced an investment group has acquired two successful franchise operations in the Chichester and South East Hampshire areas as part of a seven-figure deal.
Dream Doors launches new web site
Kitchen facelift franchise, Dream Doors, has launched a brand new website, which is designed in correspondence with its own mobile app. The website allows for better functionality and increased graphic displays. Founder Troy Trappenden said: “The age of our customers hasn’t changed, but their reading and purchasing habits have.”

Interface Financial Group launches 50/50 model
International finance firm, Interface Financial Group, has launched a new franchise model, IFG 50/50, to complement its existing brand. This new franchise model offers more scope, is more flexible and differs from the original IFG model in that franchise owners receive a large portion of their capital from the franchisor. IFG President, David Banfield, said: “While the IFG 50/50 franchise is similar to the standard model in terms of the service offered to small business clients, it contains new features that will appeal to entrepreneurs who are looking for a financial service opportunity where the franchisor also supplies a large portion of the capital though a unique leverage plan.”
Steak n’ Shake announces major expansion
Better burger franchise, Steak n’ Shake, has announced that it has signed a major international development agreement with AB Holdings, which will see the franchise become available in the Middle East. The agreement allows the business to open up to 50 restaurants throughout Saudi Arabia over the next few years.
Papa John’s celebrates six more stores
Papa John’s has revealed that it has opened six more stores throughout the UK, in Nottinghamshire, Sheffield, Benfleet in Essex, Stockport, Chichester, and Romford. These new stores come at the tail end of a year that has seen the thriving pizza brand open 40 stores across the country.

Star striker spotted at Century 21
Century 21 could be providing Liverpool FC fans with a terrific start to the New Year after striker Luiz Suarez was spotted browsing for properties in the Woolton Village location – indication the striker wants to make Liverpool his permanent home. Dan Pennington, owner of Century 21 UK Liverpool South, commented: “As we all know how important Luis is to Liverpool, we were delighted to see him and his family eyeing up some of the homes in our window and hope this means the rumours of him leaving can now be put to bed. Diamond Logistics plans 20 new franchises in 2014
Courier and logistics brand, Diamond Logistics, is planning to roll out 20 new franchise locations over the next 12 months. The business grew significantly in 2013, with five new franchises established throughout the UK. The latest franchise owner to join the thriving business is former Platoon Sergeant, David Phee, who aims to “establish Revive! as the number one SMART repairer in the Ipswich area.”
