The only way is up!
Former Engineer and Draftsman, Richard Joy, couldn’t be happier with his life now as an Ovenclean franchise owner and is looking forward to the future, having just completed his second expansion, after being made redundant four years ago.
Although the word ‘redundancy’ can conjure up a lot of worrying thoughts for many, for those who have gone through the process, come out the other side and used the experience to do something they have always dreamt about – starting their own business, it really can be a blessing in disguise. This is exactly how Richard feels, with a thriving business and his destiny now firmly back in his control!
Richard comments: “It was quite a shock at the time, but I had always wanted to run my own business and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I did a lot of research online and to be honest, Ovenclean was the only franchise I really liked, enough to come along to an open day.”
Ovenclean is the longest established and most successful domestic oven cleaning franchise in the UK, providing specialist oven cleaning services to a large, virtually untapped marketplace. Franchise owners operate from professionally liveried vans and so benefit from low overheads and high flexibility. The top quality, powerful yet safe Ovenclean product range, exclusive to franchise owners, effectively cleans ovens and hobs, Aga range cookers and barbecues, restoring them to pristine condition within a matter of hours.
A couple of days out on the road with a franchise owners helped Richard make his final decision, and soon after he was on the training course, raring to go!
“The training is really thorough and covers a huge range of aspects of the job. The team at head office are also always on hand for any help and support you may need in the early days, and on an ongoing basis,” Richard explains.
Some of the key benefits he cites as a result of joining the Ovenclean franchise network are the freedom and control he has regained, as well as being able to get out and about, meeting new people every day and watching their delighted faces when they realise just what a fantastic job he is able to achieve!
“The job satisfaction is amazing, and I’m obviously doing something right as about 50 per cent of my work now comes from recommendation and repeat business, which is great. I have absolutely no regrets about becoming an Ovenclean franchisee and can’t wait to see what the future has in store,” Richard concludes.
