property investment agent Property Cashpoint has launched its franchise development programme with the aim of establishing 36 regional franchise owners across the UK within the next 18 months. With the first franchise owner launched (Brian Cheetham - see page 34 for a full interview), the company is seeking entrepreneurial people with business acumen.

"From our head office in Newcastle servicing the entire UK is stretching us," said the company's Chief Executive Timon Shiner. "Therefore, we are looking to create a network of people working each local geographical area. We recognise that by franchising people can get involved in our success story and bring more commitment to growing the business. Franchising is a great model for people to work and earn serious money."

Property Cashpoint franchise owners will source investable property available for a quick sale from the vendor in their area, conduct due diligence in setting an acceptable purchase price, and then submit it to head office for presentation to the company's database of over 900 active property investors.

The territories available range from entire counties to portions of large conurbations depending on the regional profile. Although a background in property, financial services or sales is beneficial, Property Cashpoint will provide a comprehensive training programme covering every aspect of operating the business.

"The return on investment is measured in months, not years," said Timon. "Income potential for franchise owners is very good - there's an opportunity for each individual to develop their business as we introduce new products and initiatives. Whether the market is flat or buoyant, our business model stacks up - this is certainly a recession-proof opportunity.

"We are keen to show our business model to people interested in becoming a franchise owner, so after initial discussions will welcome them to spend a day visiting us at our head office."
