Recognition Express joins the global CarbonZero project
Recognition Express, a design and print franchise, has joined the worldwide CarbonZero project in a bid to reduce its carbon footprint.
In its attempt to minimise CO2 emissions, Recognition Express will support tree planting projects in Devon, Cornwall and Cumbria. More than 50 UK native trees will be planted over the next 12 months to offset the company's carbon footprint, which was calculated using its vehicle emissions, air travel and energy usage.'We wanted to make some measurable impacts on climate change,' said Nigel Toplis, Recognition Express' Managing Director. 'Human beings are the most wasteful of animals and it is now generally accepted that we are responsible for climate change.
'This is just one small effort to ensure that we are accountable and doing something positive to protect and re-invest in nature reserves and woodland areas.'
To ensure maximum environmental effectiveness, Recognition Express is working with co2balance, a carbon consultancy that specialise in helping businesses reduce their energy consumption, and calculate and offset their carbon footprint.
