One day like this

I start the day by looking at the MET Office reports, it is vital that I am aware of what the weather is doing because most of my work is outdoors. Then I do a stock check on the van to see what is running low. I know I can place an order online with Revive!’s approved paint supplier, who will deliver the next day.

08:30 Today my first job is a 12 month old Audi with a scuffed bumper. I was recommended to the customer by the dealership where he bought the car originally. While on this job, I take a couple of calls from customers who have come across Revive! via the website. I then invoice the customer ensuring he is happy with my work and then he pays me.

11:15 Today I go to one of my regular car dealerships for the afternoon’s work. The salesman gives me a list of jobs that he wants done today – four in total. 16:30 Having completed the jobs that were required, a local Audi dealer calls me for an emergency job. The dealership has just sold a car and needs some work doing before it is collected tomorrow. I go to the dealership to get the part that needs repairing to take home in order to repair this evening.

17:30 Finally I get home and take a quick look at the paperwork, making sure its all up-to-date and then its family time.

One of the best things about this business is the range of work that comes in – no two days are the same. I love the fact that I really am in charge of my own lifestyle now and that if its solely down to me to make my business a success. I must admit when I started it was slow going for a while, but now I have built up an excellent reputation in the area for technical excellence. This year I turned over £7200 in just one month, which is a personal best. The best thing about a record month like that is the pride I have in seeing the direct reward of my own hard work.
