This is the first time in the seven years of the competition that a winner from the South West England event has picked up a national award. Riverford was also nominated for three other awards, including the safe online transactions category.

Fabian King, head of regional ICT at the South West RDA, said: 'Riverford is a shining example of a company that is succeeding through embracing e-business. We hope the recognition of the company's work in this area will encourage other firms in South West England to look closely at how adopting ICT can transform their businesses and improve productivity.'
