Last week the birth of the future King of England held the worlds attention as rightly expected. What was not quite so expected was the way in which the general public chose to commemorate the new addition to the royal family by ordering pizza.

Domino’s announced that they had seen a 20 per cent increase in Pizza sales last week and overall pizza sales rose by a measurable 6.4 per cent.

Momentous events like the birth of a prince or last year’s spectacular Olympic opening ceremony are considered unmissable by a large portion of the general public. A factor, which is contributing massively to these sudden surges in sales as families choose to order in rather than cook and miss out on any part of the occasion.
