Richard Bent, covering various areas in London including Bloomsbury, Kensington, Mayfair, Westminster and Earls Court, is still enjoying the successful Safeclean franchise he started in 1985.

Bent said: “I was in banking originally but decided that I wanted to be my own boss and run my own business. I wanted to work for myself and, at the time, carpet cleaning seemed to be a relatively low investment opportunity, and Safeclean came across as being very professional.”

Bent, who runs his business with his family and four technicians, believes the success he has made of his franchise is down to the training of his staff and the loyal customer base he has built.

“I get immense job satisfaction from making a difference for our customers, especially being able to actually show them the before and after appearance of their furnishings, and their happy faces when they see the results,” said Bent. “I also get a real sense of achievement when customers come back to us year after year, several of who started using us 25 years ago and still use us today!”

Bent added: “The support from head office is excellent, and there is always advice and help readily available. If asked the question, ‘would I recommend Safeclean’, I would definitely answer ‘yes’.”
