In the run up to starting a business the biggest concern for many business owners is whether there will be any customers. Not so for Safeclean franchise owner Kieran Flemming, who started trading in Oldham and Holmfirth in April and who had work generated from day one of trading.

Because of its link with Guardsman - the UK's leading provider of furniture protection programmes - Safeclean is able to provide franchise owners with a database of some 7,000 people who have taken out a Guardsman policy in their territory. "Thanks to Safeclean and Guardsman I was given an extensive database of customers who were mailed a postcard offering my services just before my training ended," says Kieran. "The success of the mailing meant that I had customers ringing up for quotes as soon as my training finished!"

With a background in engineering, Kieran decided that he wanted to go into franchising to become his own boss. "I wanted to be the master of my own destiny and run my own business with the knowledge that I have the backing and support of a large organisation,' he explains. 'Safeclean more than fits that criteria - it is a well known and trusted brand, an ethical franchise, and part of an ethical company in Guardsman/Valspar.

"Also, the training doesn't end as soon as you've paid your cheque and finished the induction course. Safeclean not only provides day-to-day mentoring to assist your start up, it also supplies ongoing training and support throughout the lifetime of your franchise through regional workshops and training on new techniques and products. Safeclean strives to keep its position as one of the industry leaders."

Trading successfully for over 38 years, Safeclean is looking for motivated individuals to add to its franchise owner network. Franchise Manager Paul Fennell reflects: "Kieran will be a valuable asset to the network. He has the right attitude to make his franchise a complete success. In fact he's already talking about handing the business over to his children when he retires, which is certainly a long way off yet."

Since he began trading, Kieran has built relationships with his customers generating a number of referrals and repeat customers. "I can't wait to see the business grow," he enthuses. "Meeting people and delivering a good service gives me immense satisfaction. Safeclean gives the full backing I need to make my business a complete success."
