Ex-solider opens latest Signs Express franchise

Graphics and signs company, Signs Express, has opened its latest franchise in Farnborough. Tim Burt, who owns and operates the Signs Express Farnborough franchise, first showed an interest in the Signs Express business model at last year's Franchise Exhibition at the NEC. Coming from an armed forces background Tim was looking for a fresh challenge where he could apply his leadership and managerial skills to his own business - he saw franchising as an ideal choice.

Tim comments: 'Franchising provided the right mixture of opportunity, guidance, support and freedom within a proven business model and Signs Express best fitted the bill. Founded in the UK and focused on the business-to-business sector, the company shows tremendous growth and vitality with an outlook I identify with. Now that the centre is open, my staff and I are enjoying getting stuck into the work we have coming in.'

The Sameday Company, a Hampshire-based courier firm, was looking for vehicle graphics for its fleet of Mercedes Sprinter vans and contacted Tim shortly after opening. Director Steve May recently met with Tim at the North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NHCC&I) lunch at the Aviator Hotel in Farnborough. Steve says: 'In the courier business we can't afford to waste time off the road, so it was vital that we used a signage company that could apply the graphics without any impact on our deliveries. The end result and the speed in which it was carried out was just what we were looking for. To be an early client of a new NHCC&I member was great too, one member helping another.'
