I knew a SITB franchisee and their positive experience encouraged me to research SITB further. The fact the company is a full member of the British Franchise Association and is associated with Cadbury made me realise this was the opportunity I was looking for. I had confidence in the concept and liked the idea of approaching customers rather than waiting in a shop for them to come to me.
My wife Sarah and I launched our Edinburgh-based franchise in November 2007. The business is already generating £2,300 per week, which has outperformed our projections. For us, the main benefit of investing in the franchise has been the training, support and guidance. Initially we went through a one-week training course that covered everything from canvassing to ordering stock. Head office has been there to offer guidance and advice every step of the way helping to make our business a success.
Since running the SITB franchise I have more time to spend with my family than I did before as a shop owner. The flexibility of my working hours means I have more free time in the evenings and at weekends. The business has been a real success for us and we're glad that we purchased the Snack-in-the-Box franchise.
