The name change is part of strategic expansion plan to grow a high street presence by providing a more flexible and local service to customers and move away from traditional office bases. The move came after market research revealed that a new name was needed to successfully take the company onto the high street. Director Sarah Robertson says: 'TaxAssist Accountants makes it much clearer to people what we offer small businesses.'

TaxAssist Accountants provides small businesses with tailored advice including completion of end of year accounts and annual tax returns, payroll, VAT and bookkeeping, complemented by additional services such as debt recovery, independent financial advice and HR services. In just two years, the company has opened 22 high street branches throughout the UK and 20 more will be opening shortly.

The company has ambitious plans for the future. 'The ultimate target is to have 400 high street shops by 2010,' adds Sarah. 'These will include existing office-based franchisees, who are being encouraged to move on to the high street and take advantage of the walk-in business the company is capable of pulling in.
