The Alternative Board (TAB) has continued its nationwide expansion with the recruitment of a franchise owner for its Harrogate office. Tom Morton, a former Managing Partner of the Leeds office of chartered accountants PKF, has bought The Alternative Board Harrogate territory and will provide support and business coaching to small and medium sized businesses in his area.

Managing Director of The Alternative Board in the UK, Paul Dickinson, said: "As a former PKF partner myself, I have known Tom for many years and have the greatest respect for his abilities. He has a real world approach to business and will be able to provide practical advice and guidance to Harrogate SME owners."

Tom Morton added: "The Alternative Board format is very powerful because it combines hard-won practical experience with individual coaching and sophisticated online business analysis tools. This access to multi-disciplinary expertise makes the TAB model ideally suited to helping businesses as the economy begins to recover."

As a Managing Partner of Leeds PKF, Tom was responsible for negotiating the merger of the Leeds, London and Manchester offices of PKF into a single profit-sharing and management unit. He stood down as Managing Partner in Leeds in 2005 and was then elected to the firm's national board for four years before leaving the partnership at the end of last year.
