Although the concept of professional seasonal decorating is new to the UK, Christmas Decorators founders Nick and Sarah Bolton from Liverpool have been providing the service in the US for the last five years.
'We owned a snowboarding lodge in Aspen, Colorado and the decorating service took off because people were so impressed by the displays we installed there,' explains Nick. 'Seasonal decorating is big business in the US and last year we employed a manager to run our Aspen business while we piloted the concept in the North West of England.
'Initial take up was very encouraging, with every date in the installation diary completely filled. In fact, by December we were turning down work on a daily basis. The service appeals to hospitality businesses such as hotels and also to high earners such as celebrities and sports stars.'
