Festive financial rewards
Bringing the magic of Christmas to the people in his local area is financially rewarding for franchise owner Marcus Dunn whose Christmas Decorators business turned over £64,000 last Christmas
It may not be even summer yet but that doesn't stop Marcus Dunn from looking forward to Christmas. Marcus is the proud owner of a Christmas Decorators franchise so, although the festive season isn't exactly a holiday for him, it is the time when he sees the rewards of the year's hard work. 'Christmas is pretty hectic for me now,' admits Marcus. 'We start putting up the large commercial displays for hotels, bars and shopping centres quite early in November and by December the team generally move on to residential installations. So in the run up to Christmas you'll find me stringing up lights and decking the halls of some of the UK's swankiest locations!'
Marcus is now preparing for his second season as a Christmas Decorators franchise owner but he had worked as a sub-contractor for the head office team before he decided to set up his own operation. 'I'm a builder by trade and I run my own property maintenance company,' explains Marcus. 'Having worked with Nick Bolton and his team for a couple of Christmases I realised that I could run my own Christmas Decorators business in Surrey alongside my existing company. I don't take on any building jobs during the busy Christmas period and it's nice to do something a bit different during that time. I've decorated the homes of top premiership footballers such as John Terry and Wayne Bridge, as well as some very exclusive commercial premises such as the Cavendish Square private members club. They're not the sort of places I would normally get to hang out!
'In my first year I generated a turnover of £64,000 over the festive season and I'm hoping to achieve £100,000 this coming year. For a couple of months a year I work incredibly hard, however the financial rewards make it all worthwhile.' The Christmas Decorators was established in Colorado in 1999 by Nick and Sarah Bolton. They brought the concept over to Britain in 2005 and started franchising the business in 2007. 'Anyone with an artistic eye and good organisational skills can be trained to become a Christmas Decorator,' Nick explains. 'It's an excellent add on business for people like florists, electricians and maintenance contractors. Our displays are truly stuning and are guaranteed to make a lasting impression on everyone who sees them.
'It's great fun being part of a team that really makes Christmas special for people. We can even organise special treats such as a visit from Santa complete with reindeer and sleigh. At the moment we have six franchise owners operating in our network, who are dedicated to bringing the magic of Christmas to people in their area.'

Spread some Christmas Spirit and grow a seriously rewarding business
You won't have come across a franchise opportunity like this before! It's truly one of a kind, in an innovative new marketplace that we've created here in the UK over the last four years. It offers a fun and exciting way of earning a very good living over a few months of the year, designing and installing Christmas decorations, both indoors and outdoors to commercial and residential properties. This is a service that people are delighted to hear about and allows them to make their property look amazing for Christmas rather than having to do it themselves. It's infectious, once we've decorated a property on a road, everyone else wants it.
As Christmas comes every 12 months, new customers join previous year's customers, creating a snowball effect of work. You can join our expanding team of regional Christmas Decorators for a relatively small investment and as long as you have a keen eye for what looks good, we can teach anyone to do it.
We are looking for like minded people who are excited about building their own future, have great communication skills, are hard working, enthusiastic and have the determination to build a substantial business in their area. If you like Christmas, that helps too!
