The streat café plans Scottish franchise network

Irish café franchise the streat has opened an office in Glasgow, Scotland in preparation for its plans to open a café in every major town and city in Scotland.

Former Rangers Retail Operations director and District Manager for Disney Gerry Carey and Senior IT Project Manager John Belardo have been chosen to spearhead the franchise's development in Scotland and together they have already started a recruitment drive.

The streat's success is due to its commitment to fresh ingredients, commitment to investment in training, which has led the café franchise to win the UK National Training Award twice and its franchisees creativity to develop the café concept to include an outside catering and food delivery element, 'the-streat-on-wheels' that delivers food to events and commercial properties.

The company was established in Northern Ireland in 1999 and was founded by Michael and Nikki McQuillan. Since then the company has expanded its network to 26 cafes throughout Ireland.
