The latest The Zip Yard franchise has been opened in Basingstoke by franchise owners Jill and Gerald Phillips.

The couple will now be able to offer The Zip Yard’s wide range of alteration and tailoring services, all done on site by trained professionals in a clean, purpose-built environment.

Jill Phillips first became interested in owning a franchise in 2011 when she was made redundant from her job as a Credit Controller. After coming across The Zip Yard the couple were impressed with the concept and couldn’t wait to open their own store.

Jill Phillips said: “It’s such a fantastic idea and The Zip Yard has such a good reputation. We hope it will be a big success. Most people don't have the time or skills to repair or alter their own clothes and perfectly good clothes are left hanging in the closet. Now they can bring these garments in to us and we’ll make them fit perfectly.

“Clothes sizes in the high street vary quite a lot, but now that we’re providing a cost effective alteration service people have the option to buy the clothes they like, even if they are a little too big or too long. Our aim is to have clothes ready within 24 hours so you can buy something on Friday and it’ll be ready to wear on Saturday.”
