The UK’s largest franchise exhibition returns to Birmingham’s NEC on 13 & 14 October.

Showcasing scores of brands offering low-cost to high-investment business opportunities across a wide spectrum of sectors, The National Franchise Exhibition also boasts over 60 free seminars and workshops.

The comprehensive line-up of speakers offers aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike critical business advice from seasoned professionals. Topics to be addressed span the entire franchising journey, from selecting and launching a franchise, to proven methods for growing a successful business.

A stand-out feature of the seminar programme is the keynote session to be presented by Abel Campos, Head of Franchising & Field Services for McDonald’s UK. Appointed to this role in 2016 after more than 20 years working within the organisation, Abel is responsible for overseeing the McDonald’s franchising strategy as well as the recruitment and training of new franchisees.

In his keynote session at midday on Saturday 14 October, Abel will enlighten his audience on the evolution of the McDonald’s brand in the UK and the global restaurant chain’s journey to becoming a progressive burger company.

Abel’s presentation will be of particular interest to anyone wishing to pursue a franchise with the world-class organisation. Audience members will gain key insights into what it means to be part of one of the most recognised brands in the world.

With 45 consecutive quarters of growth and 74 per cent of their UK restaurants operated by franchisees, McDonald’s offers tremendous prospects for success within an established and finely tuned franchise model. McDonald’s UK welcomed 15 new franchisees in 2016 and continues to recruit hands-on, ambitious leaders who are ready to make a long-term commitment to the business.

Abel comments: “Our way of working with franchisees is unique – overnight you will become a part of one of the UK’s biggest businesses. Franchisees are integral to our business, and partnership between both sides is essential to succeed. We are looking for people with an entrepreneurial spirit who want to be part of not only our business, but are passionate about growing talent in their restaurants and having a positive impact in their communities.”

Visitors will have further opportunity to explore what is entailed as a member of the McDonald’s family at the McDonald’s Insight Sessions. Senior-level representatives will also be present for one-to-one discussion at the brand’s exhibition stand.

The National Franchise Exhibition is sponsored for the third consecutive year by the global number one franchise Anytime Fitness, which joins a bounty of brands including Platinum Property Partners, Merry Maids and SwimKidz. An exclusive partnership with the British Franchise Association (bfa) ensures that every exhibiting brand has been assessed as operating a viable business format franchise.
