Exciting business opportunities at The British and International Franchise Exhibition

“Anyone looking at franchising should visit this exhibition.” Karima Meghani

“This will be the most interesting and most exciting franchising event in London for many years. It’s not to be missed.” Adrian Goodsell

The British & International Franchise Exhibition, from 18th to 19th March 2011, will be home to a vast range of franchises, five theatres featuring valuable and informative free seminars, as well as advice from experts on all aspects of franchised business across the world.

As the only London exhibition endorsed by the British Franchise Association (bfa), visitors can be confident about all the franchise opportunities presented to them as it will only feature companies that have been bfa-accredited in accordance with its code of ethical franchising. This means all companies at the event have proven to be a viable and reputable enterprise.

“The British & International Franchise Exhibition will be more international than ever with many more new overseas exhibitors offering proven business concepts to the UK market,” says Adrian Goodsell, Franchise Exhibitions Manager at event organisers Venture Marketing Group.

“With all the other exhibitors and features, there is no better place for anyone to find a new career opportunity.”

It is not difficult to see why franchising is growing worldwide – new businesses based on franchise concepts are much more likely to succeed than other new business ventures. According to the latest NatWest and British Franchise Association survey, 88 per cent of all franchise owners, including new start-ups, were trading profitably in 2009. The reason for this success is that franchising offers the security of an established brand, a proven business model and a support network on hand to help entrepreneurs through the crucial but often difficult preparation, planning, launch and growth phases of starting a new venture.

The choice of franchises available at the exhibition is huge, making it easy for visitors to find the business that is perfect for their interests, skills and budget. The exhibition will feature around 150 franchise concepts covering a wide range of industry sectors from management consultancy and recruitment to food and drink, health and fitness and automotive repairs.

The list of exhibitors includes new and established leading ethical franchising companies such as Auditel, ComputerXplorers, Envirovent, Home Instead Senior Care, Mac Tools, Thorntons and X-press Legal Services.

Special features

The exhibition is ideal for everyone, as its many events, special features and services are designed to cover all levels of franchising knowledge.

The extensive conference and seminar programme will cover all the important franchise-related topics. They range from the popular bfa seminars such as An Introduction To Franchising, to sessions on Women In Franchising, High-level Investment Franchising and Franchise Resales, with several distinguished keynote speakers in both the franchise and Growing Your Own Business events.

The International Conference, supported by UK Trade & Investment, will discuss both how to launch a franchise in the UK and how to take a UK-based business overseas. It will address many key industry issues including buying a Master Franchise in the UK and buying an international franchise.

The theatres will also host presentations from exhibiting franchisors and the highly successful franchise owner panels which, due to levels of visitor demand, now take place throughout the two days.

These give visitors the opportunity to hear from franchise owners about their success, failures and transition periods from employee to a self-employed franchise owner.

Other popular features will include The Franchise Starting Point helping visitors completely new to the concept of franchising to find exhibitors to suit them and the Lloyds TSB Business Plan Clinic, giving advice about how to prepare a plan to raise finance.

Each year this event is highly acclaimed by visitors. For example, Helen and James Spall from Ascot, who visited the 2010 exhibition says: “We would definitely recommend the show. It gives people a real chance to find out about the industry.

“We’ve got more out of today, including a one-hour speaker session, than what we have with hours of researching, appointment bookings, looking through company listings etc.”Ronan Bodley, an IT Software Consultant, from Winchmore Hill, North London adds:

“You can’t beat meeting people face to face to find out what a business is all about. So I have come away with a clear and realistic understanding of several concepts that I am considering.”

Karima Meghani, a Business Administrator from London summed up by saying: “Anyone looking at franchising should visit this exhibition.”

Adrian Goodsell adds: “This will be the most interesting and most exciting franchising event in London for many years. It’s not to be missed.”
