The Journeys and My Dormotel concept, whether aimed at backpackers or workers, is essentially the same – both operations require property that is capable of being converted to provide modern, simple accommodation, in dormitories or multi-bedded rooms.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Irrespective of your starting point, becoming a Journeys franchise owner couldn’t be simpler. In some cases, say for example a pub conversion, the operator could be feeling the benefits of income within a matter of weeks.

Conversion work will take place on your building, monitored periodically against our design standards by a member of the Journeys Franchise Team.

We provide all the necessary systems training, covering all areas including Journeys Brand Standards, Operational Best Practice, Financial Accounts Procedures, and Sales & Marketing.

SPECIAL FRANCHISE OWNER RESOURCES

As your Journeys hostel becomes ready to open, you will receive support from the Journeys Franchise Team. These professionals will be working in consultations with you and your staff to teach you how we build revenue, create a unique working environment, and to help out with operational matters.

GLOBAL SALES

Our Sales Team will act as an addition to your on-site sales facility. Here you will find experienced sales professionals in all key areas of the market, driving business straight to your doorstep from all over the world.

TRAINING COURSES

For a Journeys hostel to be truly amazing, having fully-trained staff is extremely important.

Journeys provides a whole range of industry hospitality training courses aimed at helping you to achieve a unique experience for both their guests and employees.

PROCUREMENT SERVICE

This service can save you time and money by providing access to products and services to help you run your hostel, including furniture, equipment, food and beverage stock, laundry services, fire systems, insurance, IT equipment and support.

BRAND STANDARDS AUDIT

Your Journeys Support Team will visit you from time to time, to evaluate the overall guest experience and condition of your property, leaving helpful feedback in the form of a solution-based evaluation.

'HOSTEL STARS' GUEST SURVEY SYSTEM

Journeys hostels use this system to receive feedback from its guests. We provide free summaries of this guest feedback to all Journeys franchise owners – a helpful aid for all areas of your business.

The Promise

If using the Journeys’ systems and recommendations you fail to achieve a 70 per cent occupancy level by the end of year one; we will return 100 per cent of your franchise fee and you get to keep your franchise or, if you wish, leave the network without penalty.

That’s it. No ifs, no buts. This is a genuine promise based on our history, our experience, and our confidence that our franchise offer will give you the opportunity to build a serious business with massive profit potential.

THE JOURNEYS AND MY DORMOTEL OFFER

Our offer is for a five-year franchise, renewable for an unlimited number of five-year periods without the need to pay any further franchise fees so long as you operate your business within the normal terms of the franchise agreement.

A new franchise agreement may need to be signed at the end of any five-year period, to bring you into line with the franchise agreement then offered. This may incur some small legal costs.

This offer includes: the agreement, the start-up package, training and marketing support.
