New franchise Wilkins Chimney Sweep has awarded its first three franchises in a six-month period. The owners of the chimney sweeping business, Peter and Louise Harris, decided to start franchising their concept when they noticed an increasing number of people were turning to open fires and wood burners to combat the steep rise in energy prices.

Peter Harris, Managing Director of Wilkins Chimney Sweep, said: “With insurance companies now requiring policy holders to have their chimneys swept regularly, and oil, gas and electricity prices rising, we have seen a steady increase in business. We spent a long time researching the franchise market and took the very best advice from franchising experts when building our model.”

Louise Harris, Franchise Director of Wilkins Chimney Sweep, added: “We are absolutely delighted to have awarded our first three franchises so quickly. Mark Frost will be running Wilkins Chimney Sweep Brighton and Worthing, Dave Connolly will run Wilkins Chimney Sweep Black Country and Steven Gallacher will run Wilkins Chimney Sweep Cambridge.”

Wilkins Chimney Sweep recently became a Provisional member of the British Franchise Association and will be exhibiting at The National Franchise Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham from September 30 to October 1.
