A group of friends have invested in five WindowGeeks franchises, after seeing the success of Chartered Accountant John Commander’s initial two franchises.

The group now run all seven franchises from their administrative hub in Gloucestershire. Commander said: “Financially, this franchise is set up properly and I should know what to look out for! The franchisor makes his money downstream – when we are successful – and not from high up-front costs. I really liked the brand, but it was important for me to see that WindowGeeks has been tried and tested in various parts of the country. Plus, the economic climate is perfect for this business right now.

“Our growth has been phenomenal, and we haven’t even scratched the surface of what’s possible yet. Each day this week our sales have exceeded £2,500, and on two occasions we've sold more than £3,000. Last week I took £3,120 of orders – in a morning.”

WindowGeeks specialises in repairing windows, doors and conservatories. It sources parts that double glazing firms claim are no longer available, replaces the glass if it’s just the glass that needs replacing, and has a mend and make-good mentality that’s on trend both environmentally and economically.

Phill Pedley, WindowGeeks founder, said: “Customers are amazed when they call us around and discover the huge savings they can make. Typically our costs for repairs will be in the low hundreds – and in many cases less than that – whereas commission-driven salespeople will be pitching replacement windows in the thousands.”

All franchise owners receive six years’ guaranteed support, something WindowGeeks’ Stockport franchise owner, David Ward, had to call on sooner than he had imagined. Just days after signing up, and before his training, he already had 18 enquiries to deal with.

“That gave me even more confidence in the business, but of course, at the time I didn’t really know what I was talking about. Phill was with me straight away and took over to ensure customers were looked after. It was a great learning experience and we won £4,500 of business from those initial enquiries.

“WindowGeeks has fulfilled every promise made to me. This franchise does exactly what is says on the tin. It’s simple, it’s easy to learn and it works.”
