WPA offers challenging & varied sales/customer service opportunity
Entering its second year as a franchise, Western Provident Association (WPA) is confident that its WPA franchise will become even better known throughout the UK. WPA is a not-for-profit Private Medical Insurer with over 300,000 customers in the UK and a history going back over 100 years. The business is split relatively equally between private business (individuals and self-employed) and corporate business (SME and very large FTSE 100). "We are best known for our culture of putting the customer at the centre of all that we do and actually meaning it,"states the company.
WPA has run a self-employed sales force for over 11 years with more than 100 sales agents distributed across the UK. In January 2006, the company transformed the sales team into individual franchise businesses. 'We believe that WPA is the first bfa recognised Insurance Services franchise operation which is directly regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA),' says the company.
'The FSA's focus on treating customers fairly brings a welcome discipline to this challenging and varied sales and customer service opportunity.
'We are keen to increase the number of franchisees across the country, though the criteria for joining is relatively stringent to ensure candidates meet the quality standards set by WPA and as laid down by the FSA. Once accepted however, the retention of our franchisees is very high with many clocking up over 10 years with the Association. Above all else, we have learned that being a franchisor is all about getting as much out of your franchise network as you put in.'
