Driver Hire’s new franchise owner, and 11th to join the company this year, took over the Crewe location last week.
Martin Kenyon joined Driver Hire after leaving a career in the express logistics sector, where he had started as a driver and ended up at board level. Over a career spanning 30 years he worked for national carriers Target Express and Tuffnells. More recently he’s been working as a consultant to the transport industry. Kenyon decided to become a Driver Hire franchise owner as he felt he needed a new challenge.
Kenyon said: “I felt that setting up my own business was too risky, particularly in the current economic climate. So I turned my attention to franchising which offers a safer route into self employment. I used the quality services of Driver Hire at the depots I managed some years ago. So the two strands came together and I found myself discussing a potential purchase with Driver Hire’s Franchise Sales Director.”
