McDonald’s is looking for franchise owners in New Zealand to aid its planned expansion in the country.

The fast food giant is planning to open nine new locations in New Zealand, with the first to be located around Britomart in Auckland and operating in time for the Rugby World Cup. Another new restaurant is set to be located in Balmoral.

McDonald’s is looking for franchise owners with about $1 million cash, which would enable them to purchase the business for about $350,000 and ensure that they also have enough money to launch and operate it.

The company is ideally looking for franchise owners who are prepared to sign 20-year commitment agreements.

McDonald’s is looking to open three store types in New Zealand: drive-throughs, which can vary in size; instores, which have high pedestrian counts; and foodcourts, in malls.
