Flying start for Bluebird Care!

\"We have a level of experience
in both franchising
and care provision you will not find anywhere else.\"

Bluebird Care Franchise Director Simon Dalziel

Following a 'very successful' two year pilot business, the Bluebird Care franchise was launched through The Franchise Magazine in June 2006. The franchisee network has since grown to 23 UK franchisees and a Master Franchisee in the Republic of Ireland.

'By our reckoning that makes us the fastest growing care franchise in the UK,' states Franchise Director Simon Dalziel. 'Notonly have we grown rapidly but we are delighted with the experience and calibre of our franchisees who, in turn, are now seeing their businesses grow and develop.'

He puts this impressive growth down to a number of factors: 'First and foremost we have an exceptionally good business to franchise. Our franchisees continue to prove our business systems and procedures are excellent with the results they are achieving. Secondly, within the business we have a level of experience of both franchising and care provision you will not find elsewhere. Our franchisees have the benefit of this experience and first class support team.'

The market for providing care in the home continues to grow as it is increasingly seen as a realistic alternative to residential care. Bluebird Care Managing Director Paul Tarsey states that this is set to continue:

'In the 18 years I have been in the homecare sector, I have seen the market grow steadily. In recent years we have seen increasing business from the private sector with more and more families getting involved in ensuring family members receive the care they deserve.'

'Bluebird Care is about providing a high quality of care - our procedures ensure this,' says Paul. Care in the UK is regulated by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI), with the reports they produce on care companies being available online.

'I am delighted to say that all the reports on Bluebird Care show that we meet or exceed their standards and these reports can be viewed by prospective franchisees. It is good to know that we have independent verification of our excellent standards and systems,' he concludes.

Bluebird Care provides care across a wide range of groups - older people, physical disabilities, mental health and learning disabilities for example. Franchisees come from a wide range of backgrounds as care experience is not required.

'Franchisees have been drawn to Bluebird Care for a number of reasons,' reflects Simon. 'They have certainly seen the market potential - many have had first hand experience of having to arrange care for arelative. Once they have met the team here they can see we have the experience to provide them with the support and guidance to set up and run a successful care business.'

Paul adds: 'If our second year is as successful as our first, Bluebird Care is a long way down the road to achieving our aim of being the care provider of choice anywhere we operate.'
