\"The success Bluebird Care has had is reflected in their results - currently 70 franchise territories throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland\"

Our business, first and foremost, is about providing a very high standard of care to our customers," explains Managing Director Paul Tarsey. "This has to be the starting point as without customers we have no business."

Operating in the huge and growing market of providing care in the home, Bluebird Care has, in a short space of time, established itself as the fastest growing care franchise in the UK. The business was started by husband and wife team Paul and Lisa Tarsey back in September 2004.

"Having had many years' experience in the sector, we recognised that there was a need for a business that was designed for the 21st century care market, as the market was changing fast," explained Paul. "We were frustrated that other care providers were not addressing the needs of the market and believed we could start a business that would - so we started Bluebird Care!"

Due to its dramatic growth it was decided to franchise the business and Simon Dalziel joined as Franchise Director, bringing his 20 years of franchise experience into the business.

"We are very proud of what has been achieved to date," said Simon. "We have been very successful at recruiting the right franchise owners and their businesses have taken off. We have some very successful owners."

"We pride ourselves on our passion for the business and our passion for our franchise owner's success. While we cannot guarantee success, we can guarantee that we will provide our franchise owners with the same high level of support in terms of advice, training, help and business mentoring."

Hand-in-hand with passion is professionalism. "Professionalism is important - franchise owners want to be associated with a professional franchise operation," reflects Simon and this professionalism has assisted in the recent award of full membership of the British Franchise Association (bfa). As firm believers in ethical business format franchising, we were delighted to have this recognised by the bfa."

The success Bluebird Care has had is reflected in their results - currently 70 franchise territories throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland, which has seen a UK brand turnover increase from approx. £650,000 in March 2007, to a current annualised turnover of over £13 million.

No previous care experience is required to run a Bluebird Care franchise as the company prides itself on bringing franchise owners into the business who have no care background. The mark of a good franchise system is its ability to train those with no experience in the business and give them the support and guidance to be successful.

"We have brought people into the business from a wide variety of backgrounds," explains Paul, "but they all have one thing in common - a desire to provide a top class care service and a passion to be successful in their business."

What of the future? "The care sector continues to offer fantastic opportunities to grow substantial, profitable businesses with the right franchisor," concludes Simon. "Bluebird Care has an ethos of business partnership with our franchise owners - we never forget our success is closely linked with theirs. Bluebird Care is a modern business very much designed for the 21st century care market and together with our franchise owners, we have a very positive view of the future."
