Having turned his back on bookmaking after 35 years of operating a chain of independent betting shops, Stephen Hayhurst knew he was on to a winner when, after just two years with Cash Generator, he opened his third store.
Wanting a new career, Stephen was interested in retail franchising and attended the British Franchise Exhibition in Manchester. Impressed by what Cash Generator had to offer, he embarked upon his new career in franchising.
Stephen says: "Cash Generator offers many income streams of both retail and financial services and was a franchise option I could really associate with."
Since 2008, Stephen hasn't looked back. Opening his first store in Chorley he quickly progressed to open another store in Cheetham Hill just 12 months later. With ambitious objectives from the outset to open a portfolio of stores, Stephen added a third by opening in Halifax last summer.
With business booming, Stephen was recently presented with Cash Generator's prestigious Franchise Owner of the Year award. Speaking about his success, Stephen says: "I was honoured to receive the Franchise Owner of the Year award. It's great recognition for the hard work that I and the whole team have put in across the two years. Opening the Halifax store has fulfilled my ambition to create a portfolio of stores. With Cash Generator's continued guidance I am already looking at possible locations for my fourth store."
