Manchester Central set to showcase franchises

Becoming your own boss by investing in a franchise is a career option that has many attractions. However, in the present economic climate, it is a choice that needs to be carefully considered and researched in order to ensure success.

The British Franchise Exhibition in Manchester offers potential franchise owners the opportunity to find out all about franchising and meet businesses, network, and gain advice and support, all under one roof.

Former Police Officer Paul Siner, from Liverpool, who visited last year’s event, says: “That was the first show I had been to and it proved very useful. I had identified particular franchise businesses that I wanted to focus on, including McDonald’s and Totally Clean Solutions. However, after I went to the exhibition, I was able to broaden my horizons.”

This year’s event, which takes place on June 8 and 9 in Manchester Central, showcases franchise opportunities across a wide range of sectors including property, care, food and drink, home improvement, travel and finance. Among the brands exhibiting will be Bluebird Care, Cruise Holidays, Platinum Property Partners, McDonald’s, Kare Plus, Cash Converters, United Carpets and Local People.

What’s more, the exhibition is still the only franchise event in the North endorsed by the British Franchise Association (bfa), the regulatory body for franchising in the UK. This means all companies exhibiting have met the Association’s code of ethical franchising.

Alongside the exciting list of exhibitors are key features such as the popular Franchisee Panel and a Careers Advice Lounge, where visitors can match their skills to an ideal business. An extensive conference programme covers a range of subjects including: an introduction to franchising, high-level investment franchising, executives in franchising, franchising your business and seminars on growing your own business.

A series of highly informative seminars by the bfa will include helpful advice and specific success stories from leading speakers from the UK franchise industry.

For those considering an investment in a food franchise, McDonald’s will be holding franchise owner recruitment Open Sessions exclusively on-site.

Visitors can book sessions in advance at and meet with McDonald’s staff at the exhibition to find out about becoming part of one of the world’s biggest brands. This is one of several exciting opportunities for those looking to develop a career in the sector to meet existing franchise owners face-to-face and gain a real insight into the industry.
