Cartridge World raises funds for Kent Air Ambulance

The owners of Cartridge World outlets in Kent, Colin and Eileen Harris have devised a customer loyalty scheme to help support Kent Air Ambulance Trust, Demelza House Children's Hospice and the environment.

Colin and Eileen Harms run the five Cartridge World stores in Sittingbourne, Chatham, Strood, Canterbury and Maidstone and have pledged a donation to the trust for every used cartridge taken into the branches for refilling or recycling.

Colin Harms said: 'Kent Air Ambulance is funded entirely by donations and it costs £1.5 million each year to keep this life-saving facility available to everyone. Every donation counts and by collecting your empty cartridges at home, at work or at school and bringing them into your local Cartridge World you can help to keep the helicopter flying.'

In addition to the donation, the owners have also devised a customer loyalty scheme that supports both the Kent Air Ambulance Trust and Demelza House Children's Hospice. Customers are able to collect stamps for every cartridge refilled and for every six stamps Cartridge World donates 50 pence to both charities.

Kent Air Ambulance Trust County Fundraiser Lynne Hyder said: 'We have many supporters who have helped raise funds over the years by collecting recyclables. With the help of Cartridge World we can continue collecting empty printer cartridges, preventing them from going to landfill and at the same time raising vital funds to keep the air ambulance flying.'
