Franchisees were asked to provide anonymous reviews about their franchise experience, support and their franchisor. The best scoring franchises were then placed on a shortlist by an independent judging panel, which included FDS’ own Regional Director, Gary Rigby.

Over the three categories that were decided upon, Home Instead Senior Care was the big winner, taking the Best Overall Franchise crown, with TaxAssist Accountants awarded the runners-up prize. However the East Anglia-based accountancy franchise came first in the Best Training and Support Award. The final award, Best Growing Franchisor, went to Cloud Bookkeeping.

The winners were announced last Thursday, December 5 at the Best Franchise Conference in Birmingham.

Martin Jones, CEO at Home Instead commented: “We are delighted to be the recipients of this award and to be acknowledged as industry leaders, especially as these awards are based on the satisfaction feedback from our franchisees combined with the opinion of the expert panel of judges. At Home Instead we understand the value of our teams, both at national office and those in our franchise offices, working together supporting each other in making Home Instead such a success story.”

Richard Holden, Head of Franchising at Lloyds Bank Commercial Banking, added: “The entrants to this year’s Best Franchise Awards were exceptionally strong and the finalists really are the cream of UK franchising. It came as no surprise to me and my fellow judges that the brands which presented at the judging day are so successful, which is largely down to the focus they provide in supporting and nurturing their franchisees.
