With the government encouraging more exercise for children under five, the music and dance classes provided by MAD Academy franchise owners are set to become more popular.

In a bid to combat a potential increase in future obesity rates parents are being advised to ensure that babies and toddlers lead an active lifestyle. Professor Dame Sally Davies, the Chief Medical Officer, said: “For children that are not yet walking, there is considerable evidence that letting children crawl, play or roll around on the floor is essential during early years. Play that allows under-fives to move about is critical and three hours a day is essential.”

MAD Academy classes are aimed at children between the ages of three months and five years. According to the company it currently has 15 franchise owners in the UK and more than 2,500 children attending its weekly sessions. MAD Academy is actively looking for suitable franchise owners to open new locations in areas across the UK.
