Molly Maid holds successful annual convention
Domestic cleaning franchise Molly Maid has held its annual National Convention, which also celebrated the company's 25th anniversary. The Convention included three days of talks and workshops held at Walton Hall and Hotel in Warwickshire.
'The location was fabulous, but with so much to talk about and learn we didn't have the time to make the most of it,' says Pam Bader OBE, Chief Executive of Molly Maid and a member of the bfa Board of Directors. 'No one seemed to mind though, everyone was so keen to be part of the sessions and the discussion groups, our franchise owners really do have the right attitude when it comes to growing their business, the enthusiasm was contagious!'
The Convention dealt with practical issues facing the business through 2009 and beyond. Presentations, open questioning, group discussions and workshops were used to generate ideas and establish realistic plans for each business growth and activity moving forward.
Pam says: 'This is going to be a tough year for every business and we wanted to use the convention to come up with proactive ways to ensure we maintain our market leadership. We feel that we achieved this in a way that has allowed each franchise owner to tailor their plans to what is realistic for their own business. We have also been able to share our experience of the last recession, and use the knowledge of those franchise owners who owned a business that survived through those tough times, to benefit the rest of the network.'
This Convention has an extra meaning as it celebrated Molly Maid's 25th anniversary. This was acknowledged with a silver theme to the Saturday night Gala dinner and some special guest including sponsors HSBC's Cathryn Hayes and past franchise owners, as well as a message from Sir Bernard Ingham, President of the bfa, who could not attend the evening. The company took the opportunity over the few days to raise valuable funds for Cancer Research UK and raised £1090 in total. They also held a special Red Nose evening, giving over £100 to the charity.
