Commercial and residential cleaning franchise ServiceMaster Clean is using its specialist cleaning products to keep swine flu at bay in homes and businesses across the UK.

Following news that Ministers have been asked to consider closing schools this autumn to help curb the number of swine flu infections, ServiceMaster Clean is recommending that schools use the summer holidays to safeguard classrooms in time for the new term.

Alan Lewin, Director at ServiceMaster, said: "We have already been approached to go into several schools over the summer holidays to carry out deep cleans using our unique cleaning products and specialist cleaning procedures. Our anti-bacterial products work immediately and after application, the products can stay effective for up to 12 months to ensure a safe environment for the start of the new school year."

Many of ServiceMaster Clean's cleaning products contain a unique antimicrobial agent that kills bacteria. Independently tested and approved by the NHS their products are effective against bacteria such as MRSA, E-Coli, C-Diff and Salmonella. ServiceMaster Clean has worked closely with its suppliers to produce this range of products, which can be used to clean surfaces, floors, carpets and upholstery in the home and workplace as well as public buildings including schools and hospitals.
