The franchise owner of Signs Express North and North East Lincolnshire has been elected as one of the first franchise owners to sit on the British Franchise Association (BFA) board.

Ken Bevis (pictured) who is one of two franchise owners to be appointed onto the board, was chosen for his previous work on other committees within the BFA.

The BFA made the decision to include franchise owners on its board as part of its 'One Vision' ethos, where the franchise regulatory body aims to include not only franchisors but also franchise owners as members.

Bevis said: "We need to encourage franchise owners to realise the significant changes in the BFA which can represent our industry at all levels including Government. The franchise industry as a whole is a major employer in the UK and should be recognised as such."
