The SUBWAY chain - hungry for more locations in shopping centres in the UK and Ireland
The SUBWAY chain, the world's largest submarine sandwich franchise, has more than 500 outlets located in shopping centres worldwide. The chain is keen to drive development in this sector in the UK and Ireland and is exhibiting at this year's British Council of Shopping Centre's Annual Conference and Retail Showcase in Belfast on 31st October to 2nd November. The SUBWAY chain's team can be found at stand number 31.
The SUBWAY® chain currently operates successful stores in a number of shopping centres including: The Trafford Centre (Manchester), White Rose Centre (Leeds), St Johns Shopping Centre (Liverpool), and Castlecourt (Belfast).
Gerald Jennings, Regional Director of Land Securities comments: "We have been delighted with the success of the SUBWAY® outlet at White Rose, Leeds. The opening has enhanced our catering offer within the food court and the SUBWAY® store has quickly established a strong and profitable presence at the centre."
The chain, which already has over 550 stores in the UK and Ireland, has ambitious plans to open a further 1,500 outlets over the next five years, creating a further 15,000 jobs with an investment of over £150 million.
The SUBWAY® chain is a known and trusted brand with proven results. Unlike traditional fast food outlets, there is no need for grills and fryers in a SUBWAY® store. SUBWAY® outlets are efficient, convenient and offer quick service throughout long trading hours.
Kevin Graham, Regional Director for Europe, Israel and South Africa, comments: 'Within five years, the SUBWAY® chain will have more outlets in the UK and Ireland than McDonald's - making it the largest single brand restaurant chain in the region.
SUBWAY®'s brand awareness is increasing daily in the UK and Ireland as more outlets are opened, more people visit the stores and, of course, the chain's marketing and advertising intensifies as it expands.
'The flexibility of the SUBWAY® chain's franchise system has enabled outlets to open in a wide range of locations, both individually and corporately owned. The chain can assist with leasing equipment, as well as the employment and training of staff.'
