An International franchising extravaganza

With the support of the US Commercial Service we expect to bring many powerful US franchise brands to the UK for the first time. This relationship will add an exciting new dimension and energy to this already superb event.

Head of Franchise Sales,
Venture Marketing Group

The exhibition is exclusively supported by the British Franchise Association (bfa), which means visitors can have full confidence in all of the opportunities on offer as only franchise companies that have met the Association’s code of ethics can exhibit.

In addition, the US Department of Commerce has granted the event Trade Fair Certification which means a large range of well known US brands are expected to launch their franchise at The British & International Franchise Exhibition.

Adrian Goodsell, Head of Franchise Sales at Venture Marketing Group, organisers of the event says: “This is great news for aspiring franchise owners. With the support of the US Commercial Service we expect to bring many powerful US franchise brands to the UK for the first time, offering inspiring and fresh opportunities and this relationship will add an exciting new dimension and energy to this already superb event.”

Franchise brands from Canada, Latin America, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, Russia and many other countries worldwide are also expected to feature in the event’s International Zone as a result of the efforts of Venture Marketing Group’s international franchise partners.

The International Zone is a major focus for many visitors that are considering becoming the Master Franchise Owner of a foreign brand coming into the UK, as well as those who might take a UK brand overseas.

It also offers an extensive seminar programme covering all aspects of franchising on an international scale, as well as a dedicated VIP area, which gives visitors the chance to network and relax during their time at the event.

Vikram Chauhan, a business consultant from India based in London and a visitor in 2013 said: “I thought the International section of the exhibition was brilliant, there is so much potential for international franchises in the UK.”

Leading brands such as McDonald’s , KarePlus, Agency Express, Cloud Bookkeeping, Expense Reduction Analysts, Snack in the Box, Tutor Doctor, Yo Yo Noodle, Safeclean and Plug & Play will be among a vast range of franchisors that will be at the event, ready for face-to-face meetings with potential franchise owners. The franchises on offer cover a range of sectors from finance and home improvement to cleaning and retail. The event’s appointment system enables visitors to confirm meeting times in advance, a valuable benefit to help them make the most of their days.

Lionel Zaga, who works at the Australian Embassy in London, described the exhibition as: “A very good and informative event.” He added: “There are plenty of brands here, and I’m interested in quite a few sectors. The exhibition has enabled me to refine my choice to education and recruitment. I’ve been to some of the seminars and I’ve got all the essentials I need from them.”

The comprehensive range of seminars at the exhibition cover all the key aspects of franchising. Featuring experts from the British Franchise Association (bfa), members of the legal and finance professions, business advisers, as well as both franchisors and franchise owners, the expert panels will provide an introduction to franchising while specialist speakers will address subjects such as high-level investment franchising, and growing your own business.

A packed schedule of interesting features gives visitors access to experts offering valuable guidance and support. Real Franchise Stories is a popular feature where visitors can hear firsthand accounts from people who have made the transition from employee to franchise owner. These franchise owners will share their experiences including anecdotes, useful tips and the next steps.

The Expert Advice Clinic is an ideal starting point with lawyers, consultants and franchisors on hand to direct visitors to the right advisers to suit their needs.

Consultants at the Careers Clinic can assess visitors’ experience and guide them on carving out their next career move while The Finance Clinic helps budding franchise owners get to grips with key finance issues as well as perfecting their business plan, the document that plays a key role in helping to secure funding.

Adrian Goodsell, Head of Franchise Sales at organisers Venture Marketing Group, says: “This is a superb opportunity for anyone thinking of starting their own business to meet face-to-face in one place with businesses from all over the world and discover how new career opportunities here can change their lives. It is an event not to be missed.”
