With both the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics a firm success, many are looking forward to building on Britain’s sporting enthusiasm over the next few years.

A-Star Sports is hoping to be part of this legacy with its children’s sports coaching franchise, which it hopes will encourage the next generation of Olympians.

Although it only started franchising in November 2011, A-Star Sports has already got 11 franchise territories throughout the UK and is a bfa Provisional member. The company is aiming to establish 40 territories in the UK within the next three to four years and has identified a potential of 240 centres.

Sharon Bassett, joint-founder of A-Star Sports, said: “The Olympics are wonderful for profiling sports which don’t usually get much attention. The Games stimulate interest among children and create new commercial opportunities to service that interest, making sport more accessible to children from all backgrounds.

“The excitement and drama of London 2012 has brought into sharp focus what has always been our sporting mission – to make sport fun and enjoyable as well as promoting a healthy, happy lifestyle for many children, which could well include Britain’s sporting stars of the future.”
