The British Franchise Association (bfa) has reappointed Mike Goddard, CEO and founder of Belvoir, to continue serving as its Chairman for the next two years. "I am delighted to accept this appointment for a further two years, which is something that has never happened before in the history of the bfa," says Mike, who was originally appointed in February 2008.

The bfa Chairmanship has previously been awarded for a one year term of office. Mike was voted into office for a second one year term in early 2009 and in a further vote of confidence the Board has now asked him to stay on until the end of 2010.

"I have been asked to stay on for this additional period to see through the 'One Vision' strategy that we are developing," he explains. "'One Vision' is something that I am passionate about. It aims to promote awareness of franchising to the general public, which is very important, and also to ensure that the bfa is representative of everyone involved in the franchising industry, including franchise owners, their staff, suppliers and industry experts - not just the franchisors.

"I have a team of 14 highly competent and enthusiastic Board members to help me achieve this objective and I am delighted to have the opportunity to influence the future of franchising in the UK. I am also very pleased to be able to continue working with the Director General Brian Smart and his team at the bfa's Head Office in Oxford, as well as our President Sir Bernard Ingam."
