At the 25th ceremony, in 2014, Autosmart took home two gongs, including the night’s top honour for Franchisor of the Year. The Emerging Franchisor of the Year award was scooped by care company Right at Home, an achievement which aided in securing the company significant growth in the following 12 months.
Commenting, Right at Home Managing Director, Ken Deary, said: “Receiving recognition of our hard work and success over the past four years was fantastic. We weren’t sure whether we were ready to enter such established awards. I’m glad we did; being profiled so prominently in the media gave us a substantial spike in franchise owner interest and enquiries, which is always a positive thing!”
The awards are designed to spotlight the franchise sector’s diversity and excellence, encouraging businesses of all sizes and market sectors to demonstrate their individual achievements. There are five categories in 2015:
bfa HSBC Franchisor of the YearThe most coveted award of the next, and the highest honour any UK franchisor can attain, this trophy highlights a drive and determination to focus on the highest ethical standards and support, with evidence of an engaged and productive network in which franchise owners can maximise their businesses. The top three finalists will again be recognised in 2015.
Emerging Franchisor of the YearShowcasing up and coming brands that have given themselves a platform to become the stars of the future, this category recognises businesses that began franchising within the last five years, and which have managed in this relatively short space of time to stand out for their preparation, support and evidence of franchise owner growth, both in numbers and revenues.
Award for InnovationThe innovation award showcases businesses that have implemented innovative changes in a bold bid to strengthen their business and their network. The winner may have developed brilliant new strategies, diversified, adopted new technologies, or fundamentally adapted their core model.
Franchisee (Franchise Owner) Recruitment AwardThis category examines the critical functions of bringing newcomers into the network, seeking the highest standards of lead generation, qualification and selection of new franchise owners.
Award for Customer FocusThis category is a new arrival in 2015, and will honour franchisors with a demonstrable focus on customer service. This may be shown through their analysis of a customer base and its trends, targeting new markets, involving franchise owners in brand positioning, or how its customer care has impacted on franchise owners’ businesses.
Finalists will be named in mid-April, with winners announced 25 June at a black-tie dinner at the ICC, Birmingham.
