Gee Bains (pictured, second from left) joined the UK’s largest specialist recruitment management franchise, Driver Hire, in May 2010. As an IT worker for a leading city law firm, he decided that he wanted a change of career and had always desired to work for himself.
Bains said: “A good friend, Manjit Singh, recommended the business to me. He owns Driver Hire Enfield and has been very successful. He pointed out the benefits of being in a strong franchise network, especially through the recession.”
With nearly 100 offices nationwide, it has become one of the UK’s largest recruitment businesses, providing temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations in both the public and private sector.
In Bains’ first year as a Driver Hire franchise owner, he achieved annual sales of over £800,000. What’s more, in October 2012, Bains won the London and South East Region British Franchise Association’s (bfa) ‘Franchisee of the Year’.
He has no regrets about buying a Driver Hire franchise. “I’m delighted with the way things have gone so far. In particular I value the ongoing training and support I’ve been given, especially from National Accounts. I’m confident that the future will bring even further growth and success for my business. Best of all, I get a real buzz from helping my customers.”
