Card publisher and franchisor Card Connection has announced its Chelmsford franchisee has increased his territory. Franchisee Paul Davis has acquired the Hertford area, this follows the news that Paul doubled the size of his business in the spring by purchasing the Colchester Card Connection region.

Andrew Cutler, Franchise Director of Card Connection, said: 'A number of our franchisees - including Paul - are seeing advantages in running larger businesses. Economies of scale means greater profits and those like Paul who have some management experience, have been quick to snap-up neighbouring territories if they become available - effectively buying into a recession-proof industry.'

Card Connection is one of the UK's largest card publishers and is the market leader in the franchised distribution of greeting cards. Using a proven system, franchisees place greeting card ranges in retail outlets on a 'consignment' basis. The award winning merchandising service provided to retailers by local franchisees is second to none and has established the company's excellent reputation especially within the convenience sector. Card Connection supplies numerous national accounts, which include Welcome Break, Total, Budgens Londis, Spar and Shell.

Cutler adds: 'Paul and his small team made up of his wife and assistant, will take on a further ten postcode areas. This means he gains around 60 extra retail stores, not to mention the development potential he can add by introducing new retail customers to Card Connection's distribution and merchandising service.'
