Domiciliary care franchise Caremark welcomed the latest addition to its franchise network, Mark Birrell, at the National Franchise Exhibition, Birmingham. Mark signed the franchise agreement at the event following months of discussions and due diligence.

As a seasoned franchise owner, working in the fire and flood restoration industry, Mark was eager to transfer his skills to an industry with better growth potential and Caremark ticked all the right boxes. "I have always been a fan of franchising because as long as you follow the system and put in the effort, you are bound to be successful," he said. "Operating my previous franchise enabled me to put my two older children through university and I hope this opportunity will allow me to give my four younger children the same opportunity.

"The domiciliary care sector appealed because it has great growth potential and is a recession-proof industry, because people will always need care. Caremark stood out because of Kevin Lewis's knowledge and experience and by investing in the brand - I have gained access to this, which will catapult me to success. I have purchased two virgin territories: East Cheshire and Newcastle under Lyne and anticipate opening my first office in East Cheshire before Christmas."
