The Informal Carer Awards is a new initiative created by Caremark (Malta) to celebrate the work of non-professional care workers, who support loved ones at home throughout Malta and Gozo.

Attending this prestigious ceremony at the Palace are Caremark Limited UK Managing Director Anne O’Rourke and National Support Manager, Liz Bosley-Sharpe.

Caremark (Malta) was inspired to launch this new initiative when they learned how the President of Malta’s husband, the First Man cared for his elderly parents at home.

The President of Malta is delighted to be involved in this special event this evening and is looking forward to presenting awards to some very deserving people.

The Informal Carer Awards opened in April for nominations and with several categories available, people are encouraged to put forward those who they feel are deserving of recognition.

Caremark (Malta) provide bespoke care and support to adults and older people in their own homes, enabling them to live safely and independently in familiar surroundings.

The service was launched in San Gwann in October 2012 and extended its service to the Maltese island of Gozo in the summer of 2014.
